Hey, I'm Sophia
Project manager. Parent. Expat residing in Zurich, Switzerland.
A few years back, I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually opened a new chapter of my life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to Switzerland wasn't part of the long-term plan. Like many expat relocations, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far more significant.
The initial months were demanding — unfamiliar setups, new habits, lofty expectations. Routine tasks seemed more challenging than they ought to be.
The Adjustment Period
We faced culture shock, uncertainty, and plenty of hands-on learning. Gradually, routines took shape. We found places that suited us, connected with other families, and began creating something that felt steady.
Why I Built Meadow Linen Crest
Most online guidance was either corporate relocation advice or superficial tourism material. What was lacking was a truthful, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to bridge that gap with practical guidance drawn from real-life in Switzerland.
What This Site Is (And Isn't)
This site is:
- Hands-on insights from living in Switzerland
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated when real changes occur
This site isn’t:
- not a tourism authority resource
- not a sponsored review site
- not a generic travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our time in Switzerland goes on, and the learning journey continues. As long as the information remains useful, I will keep noting what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Zurich or anywhere in Switzerland, don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Cheers,
Sophia
